 The city of Khmelnitskiy is located in Khmlenitskiy region in western Ukraine. It became a sister city of Modesto in 1987 while still a part of the Soviet Union. |

MSCI welcomed Kateryna Novchenkova, the Superintendent of Schools for the City
of Khmelnitsky and a chemistry teacher, and Lyudmyla Sendzyuk, an English
teacher and interpreter They were able to visit many area schools and see the
wide range of programs offered to students in our area. They also met with La
Loma Junior High Principal Edward Millerto develop a letter exchange with
Khmelnitsky School #1. It is hoped that the letter exchange can evenutally lead
to a student exchange. |
